About the Girl Monster
I have a name. It’s Charlene. I’m of Welsh descent and I live in a far off place called Newfoundland. You probably haven’t heard of it. I’m 29 but I think age doesn’t matter…unless you’re a cheese.
Now a few (more) things about moi:
#1: I’m a social loner. I like spending time alone just as much as I like going out. I’m a bit of both worlds.
#2: I love to draw and write. (And yes, I’m aware of how horribly cliché that sounds.)
#3: I play video games…lots of video games. (The first person to insist such things are “for kids” gets kicked.)
#4: I have no desire to be fruitful and multiply. I’m not a bunny.
#5: I’ve got university degrees in English, Classics, Education, and Library and Information Science. (I’ve hung these expensive pieces of paper on my wall because I hear that’s what people do.)
#6: Science fiction is awesome. Military science fiction is even more awesome. Anything related to Stargate is the epitome of supreme awesome.
#7: I play guitar and bass (the latter has strings and is not a fish). Steve Harris is one of my heroes.
#8: I like metal. I like rock. I like folk. I like new wave. I like industrial. I like blues. I like shoegaze. I like baroque pop. I like music. (Lots of music.)
#9: I’m a bibliophile through and through. (I’m also a grammar Nazi.)
#10: MacGyver is my homeboy.
#11: I don’t care about your (Pinterest) wedding plans.
#12: I think cats are far more amiable than humans.
#13: My favourite number is 13. (I make triskaidekaphobics uneasy.)
#14: I’ve read all of Shakespeare’s works more than twice over…willingly.
#15: I have two cats named Rita and Professor James Moriarty.
#16: I’m a fitness fanatic.
#17: I count my parents among my closest friends.
#18: I’m proud of where I come from. (And no, it’s not Ork.)
#19: I adore Alfred Hitchcock.
#20: All my knights in shining armour turned out to be losers in aluminum.
#21: There is no god, there is only Frank Zappa.
#22: I like TV shows about crime…and lawyers…and the military…and murder…and autopsies…and serial killers…and space…and mob bosses.
#23: I drink my coffee black with no sugar because I’m hardcore.
#24: I’m not into the religion scene, but I respect people who subscribe to various religious faiths.
#25: I like lists.
